FASTNET is a transport planning and highways consultancy. Run by founder Jon, we have over 20 years of combined experience within both the public and private sector. We produce Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals and Technical Notes, covering all aspects of the planning process from pre-application through to planning condition discharges.

JON
Jon has over twenty years’ experience in transport planning and highways engineering in both the public and private sectors. Jon has worked in consultancies, local authority highway teams, and ‘managing agent contractor’ (MAC) environments across the UK.
His skills include junction capacity assessment and design, development control advice, VISSIM microsimulation modelling, the assessment of transport impact of major residential, health and major sporting events/facilities, development of public transport infrastructure, local and national planning policy, conceptual design and development of town centre parking strategies. Particular areas of expertise are the production of transport assessments and bespoke transport advice for developments ranging from individual dwellings through to nationally significant projects.
Jon’s extensive experience in local authority highways development control brings valuable insight into the requirements of the planning process. He is a member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (https://www.ciht.org.uk/) and a Chartered Member of the Instution of Logisitcs and Transportation (https://ciltuk.org.uk/).
Outside of Transport Planning Jon enjoys property development projects, mountain biking, skiing, sailing, and volunteer stewarding for Oxfam at music festivals.
